In a recent appearance on Politics Today a popular programme featured on Channels television station, the much-respected Bishop Hassan Matthew Kuka bemoaned the blight of abandoned properties across the length and breadth of Nigeria and how this negatively defines the poor state of governance in the country.
Nigeria grapples with a N12 trillion (around $30 billion USD) phantom – the staggering cost of abandoned federal projects. These skeletal structures stand as a testament to squandered resources, a monument to unfulfilled promises, and a significant barrier to economic development. To bridge this gap and unlock lost potential, establishing an Abandoned Projects Commission (APC) is an imperative step.
